Teen Pregnancy & Prevention Partnership is excited to present to you the gathering of professionals committed to youth development, services, health, and education.

Keynote presentation:

Anne Troy, MN, RN, FNP-C
Assistant Professor of Nursing, Louisiana State University,
New Orleans, LA

Ms. Troy is a board certified family nurse practitioner and sexual assault nurse examiner. She also serves as a legal nurse consultant and has served as an expert witness. Ms. Troy has been an instructional faculty member at the School of Nursing at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans since 1993. She has received numerous awards and honors for her work in sexual assault prevention education, and most recently was named “Champion of Social Change” by the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault. 

Daryl Lynch, MD, FAAP, FSAM
Chief of Adolescent Medicine, Children’s Mercy Hospital,
Kansas City, MO

Dr. Lynch serves as a clinician and director for Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Mercy Hospital. He oversees 12 locations where teens are served in the Kansas City metro area. These clinics provide a wide range of services which includes reproductive health visits. In addition, the Teen Clinic is a Title X (ten) federally designated clinic which mandates teens to receive services without parental consent. Dr. Lynch currently serves on the Adolescent Reproductive Health Education Project within Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health in New York City. In addition, Dr. Lynch served as the principal investigator and medical consultant for KC—WAIT, a CDC pregnancy prevention grant, from 1995-2002.

This conference offers a variety of speakers and presentations focused on educational topics related to youth engagement including social marketing and media, positive youth development, contraception in sex ed, eliminating fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, sexual violence, and HIV/STI prevention.
